Water main break threatens to delay commuters on Northwest Freeway

HOUSTON -- A water main break could slow commuters traveling in northwest Houston.

The water is accumulating in the eastbound feeder lanes of the Northwest Freeway at Gessner Rd., but is still allowing traffic to get by on the left lane.

Rebecca Spera says to avoid delays, you can take Hempstead Hwy., and head to Blalock to avoid traffic which could stack up quickly during the morning rush.

The public works department has arrived on the scene and is working to address the break.
