Deadly crash kills two people
Police say the two victims stole the car from a nearby convenience store before crashing it into a tree

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police are investigating a deadly car crash on Houston's south side.

Police say it started at a convenience store. A car owner and his fiance say someone took their vehicle while they were at the store. The couple asked the store clerk about the theft who then gave the couple a tip on where to find the stolen car.

The couple went to Tareyton at Donegal Way and spotted their stolen vehicle. The suspects, a male and female, then sped up, lost control, struck a tree, and died.

Police are still investigating.
