Highway 290 at Jones Road reopens hours after big rig fire on EB lanes

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A big rig fire caused a big traffic mess on the northwest side of town.

The eastbound lanes of 290 at Jones Road were all shut down for several hours Thursday afternoon.

The Jersey Village Fire Department said it had to unload the remaining fuel from the truck before they can move it.

There was no structural damage to the roadway or concrete barrier.
