A driver faces charges for leaving the scene of a deadly crash that killed one man and injured a pregnant woman

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A driver is facing hit and run charges after causing a deadly accident.

Police say a the driver of a Chevy Impala headed westbound on Parker over Hardy Toll Road attempted to pass a vehicle and collided with a pickup going the other direction. The Impala then hit a Nissan Maxima head-on.

The male driver of the Nissan was killed and a pregnant female passenger was rushed to the hospital with minor injuries.

Two people in the pickup truck were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries and released.

Police say the driver of the Impala tried to run on foot from the scene. He attempted to get a ride from passing vehicles, but no one would pick him up. He was later arrested.

That driver is now in the hospital with minor injuries. He's expected to face charges of intoxication manslaughter and failure to render aid.
