Police officer injured after series of accidents in southwest Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A series of accidents in southwest Houston on the Southwest Freeway at Hillcroft sent a Houston police officer to the hospital.

Police say a driver slammed into two cruisers while officers were responding to an accident.

The impact caused the cruisers to hit an officer.

The officer and a suspect inside one of the cruisers were both hurt. The officer was not seriously injured.

The crash caused a backup all the way to Chimney Rock. Things are moving very, very slowly.
