METRO rail shut down this weekend
METRO will be shutting down several sections of track this weekend to perform maintenance and upgrades to the track.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- If you are driving to the Kingwood or Humble area from downtown Houston, watch for major delays around US-59 Eastex Northbound from between Crosstimbers and Laura Koppe. Three lanes will be closed throughout the weekend from 9pm on Friday until 5am on Monday morning. Two lanes will be open at all times during the closure (possibly using the shoulder lane), but you can also use the Hardy Toll Road.

The Gulf Freeway will also be closed Southbound from El Dorado to Bay Area Boulevard from 8PM Friday until 5am on Monday. As a detour exit Bay Area Boulevard to the feeder or use Highway 3 or Highway 35 as an alternate route.

I-45 Gulf Freeway total closure southbound from El Dorado to Bay Area Blvd (Fri 8pm - Mon 5am)

US-59 North northbound - 3 lanes closed from Crosstimbers to Laura Koppe (Fri 9pm - Mon 5am) could cause delays on drive to IAH.
