HOUSTON (KTRK) -- If you're traveling around southeast Texas, you may encounter several roads that have been closed due to high water. Before taking the trip, TxDOT is urging drivers to please log onto www.drivetexas.org to check on the status of the roads along your travels.
The main road seeing problems is US-59 between Houston and Victoria, specifically at FM-1160 in El Campo.
If you're coming northbound from Victoria, take SH-172 South to SH-111 East to SH-71 North. SH-71 North will take you to US-59.
If you're headed southbound from Houston, take SH-71 South to SH-111 West to SH-172 North. SH-172 north will lead right to US-59.
There are other lane closures due to high water. That info can be found here.
Also, use www.drivetexas.org to find out about construction and road closures on your routes, too.

Remember, if you come across high water, don't attempt to drive through it. Go around, don't drown.
