Driver allegedly leaves passenger behind to die in New Caney crash

NEW CANEY, TX (KTRK) -- A driver is accused of leaving his passenger to die after slamming into the back of an 18-wheeler in New Caney.

FM 1485 has reopened near Willaby Road after being shut down for more than six hours

At just before 3am, troopers say a driver slammed into a parked semi and then left the scene in another car.

DPS says the driver left their passenger behind. They died at the scene.

The driver was found at his father's house and was taken into custody.
