HOUSTON (KTRK) -- All northbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway at Broadway Street were shut down for hours due to a fatal accident.

The accident happened around 5:10am between a black Saab and a white Ford Taurus. The accident was cleared just after 11am, causing major traffic delays in the area.

Police say both vehicles were traveling northbound on the Gulf Freeway when the Saab struck the right side of the Taurus. The collision killed the 49-year-old female driver of the Taurus.

Police identified the driver of the Saab as Blisha Marrie Puga, 35.

The Harris County District Clerk's officer says Puga is charged with intoxication manslaughter. She's being held on a $30,000 bond.
