Driver dies after slamming into 18-wheeler on East Fwy
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A driver is dead after slamming their car into the back of a big rig loaded with pipes on the East Freeway.
The crash closed the eastbound lanes of the East Freeway at Federal for several hours as investigators worked to reconstruct the accident.

The front of the crashed car was virtually gone, showing how violent this crash was as it happened.
The Harris County Medical Examiner's Office says the person who died was the only one in the vehicle.
