DICKINSON, Texas (KTRK) -- A disturbing incident at Dickinson High School when a student was arrested for bringing a gun on campus.
The gun was not loaded.
Officials with the district say it was a fellow student who alerted school administrators who then sprang into action.
The 16-year-old sophomore went to school with the unloaded gun.
When administration found out, they called in the Galveston County Sheriff's Department's school liaison officer on campus.
That officer got the student out of class and arrested him without incident.
Authorities say even though the gun was not loaded, this was a serious incident.
Classes were not disrupted.
Officials have not released the name of the student who was arrested.
