The Minnesota Twins have agreed to a deal with free-agent catcher Jason Castroworth three years, $24.5 million.

The deal was first reported by Fox Sports and confirmed by ESPN on Tuesday.

Castro, 29, has spent all six of his major league seasons with the Houston Astros. Last season, he hit .210 with 11 home runs and 32 RBIs in 329 at-bats, appearing in 113 games while splitting time behind the plate with Evan Gattis.

The free-agent market at catcher is relatively thin, with Matt Wieters and Wilson Ramos among the other names available.
