In an American League Championship Series that went the full seven games, the Houston Astros had the final say on Saturday night with a 4-0 win over the New York Yankeesbefore the Astros' delirious home fans at Minute Maid Park.

This will be the Astros' second trip to the World Series and their first as members of the American League. They went in 2005 as the National League's representatives and were swept by theChicago White Sox.

After the final out, professional athletes, sports franchises, celebrities, the governor of Texas, the Houston community and the Yankees themselves took to the internet to congratulate Houston.

It's the sixth time the Yankees have lost in the postseason short of winning the pennant since they won the World Series in 2009. They lost the 2010 ALCS to theTexas Rangers and the 2012 ALCS to the Detroit Tigers.

The Astros' success comes at a difficult time for the city of Houston, amid a massive recovery effort from the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey in late August. The people of Houston have the chance to keep rooting for their team as the Astros head to Los Angeles to take on theDodgersin Game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday.
