Houston Texans safety Danieal Manning announced his retirement from the NFL on Tuesday.
The defensive back made the announcement on SportsRadio 610 in Houston.
Manning, a nine-year veteran, has played the past four seasons with the Texans after spending the first five years of his career with the Chicago Bears. The Texans cut him last year in a cost-cutting move only to re-sign him in August after he was released by the Cincinnati Bengals, who had signed him after his release from Houston.
Last season he had 46 tackles, appearing in all 16 games. For his career, the 32-year-old Manning has 552 tackles, 11 interceptions and nine forced fumbles.
