Tension rising as Pearland Little League advances
Tension is rising in the stands in Waco as the Pearland Little League advances toward a shot at the Little League World Series

WACO, TX (KTRK) -- Pearland's Little League All Stars are one game away from returning to Williamsport for the Little League World Series.

The team is undefeated, so you might think there's nothing to worry about, but there are some concerns for the team.

Pearland is the only undefeated team in the tournament, one game away from going to the Little League World Series, but no matter the score, on game days, there are some very nervous people here.

Pearland's Little League All Stars are almost calm and composed during the game, but it's a different story for their parents.

Pearland mom Maria Richards said, "It's more nervous when my son comes up to bat, you are like, 'OK, please do this,' but really, because we are so close and know them so long, all of them, you want all of them to do good."

With every win the team is getting more attention, this game is nationally televised and that just adds to the stress level.

Richards said, "My family is like, 'Oh, we are getting it,' and I am like 'Oh, my god."

Perhaps no position in Little League is more important than the pitcher. The starting pitcher for this game Jarrett Tadlock and his mom is really nervous.

Lindsay Tadlock said, "When I saw he was pitching, I just about had a heart attack."

His sister is feeling it too. Ashtyn Tadlock said, "It is nervous watching him, just nervous and scared and (I) hope he does good."

The players have been together for years, and their parents know what the boys are capable of, but even that does not calm the nerves.

Lindsay Tadlock said, "I know that he'll just do is what he can do and he's obviously going to try to strike everyone out."

Pearland is in the championship round, we find out later today the team they will face.

The championship game is Thursday at 6pm, and it will be on our sister network, ESPN.
