YAOUNDE, Cameroon -- Cameroon defeated Moldova 1-0 in their final warm-up game for the World Cup as Edgar Salli's first-half goal decided the friendly international.
Salli scored in the 30th minute to give Cameroon a triumphant farewell in Yaounde on Saturday, with the squad due to travel to Brazil on Sunday ahead of opening their World Cup campaign against Mexico five days later.
The victory ensured Cameroon built on their impressive 2-2 draw with Germany last weekend, but captain and leading striker Samuel Eto'o did not play in Yaounde amid concerns over his fitness.
Cameroon should have won by more against Moldova and will travel to Brazil with two wins, a draw and one loss to Paraguay from four warm-up games.
The four-time African champion play Mexico on Friday, then Croatia and Brazil in Group A.
