Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley has decided to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee after he met with team doctor Walt Lowe on Saturday morning.

The surgery will take place Tuesday in Houston.

After Friday's preseason loss to the San Antonio Spurs, Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni said Beverley would miss roughly 20 games.

Eric Gordon most likely will replace Beverley in the starting lineup.

Beverley played in just one preseason game before developing irritation in his left knee. The Rockets will start the season minus their best defensive player and one of their team leaders.
