The Houston Astros and reliever Will Harris have agreed to a two-year deal that avoids arbitration for the 2016 All-Star.
The 32-year-old right-hander will make $2.2 million this season and $2.8 million next year, according to multiple reports. The deal also includes a club option for 2019 worth $5.5 million to $8.5 million, depending on Harris' games in 2018.
Houston will still control Harris' rights through the 2019 season, regardless of the club option. If the Astros were to decline the option, Harris would become arbitration eligible for a third and final time.
Harris, along with Luke Gregerson and closer Ken Giles, will anchor a bullpen that is considered among of the strongest in the majors.
