Receiver Anthony Mitchell with North Forest is considered one of the main weapons for his team

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- You don't find too many schools where the main weapon is a receiver but over at North Forest the Bulldogs try to get the ball to Junior Anthony Mitchell as often as possible in the games and at practice.

Mitchell's head coach Mike Ferrell says Mitchell loves to practice and he gets fired up for the opportunity to improve as a person every day.

The 6-3 Mitchell loves to give props to his teammates. He also loves to go up and get the ball. He says his dad told him once the ball goes up in the air it's his go get it.

Last Friday -- in North Forest's 28 to nothing shutout of Yates. Mitchell grabbed 4 passes for 110 yards and two touch downs. Earning him our high school highlights player of the week.

Mitchell says, "It's the team offensive line, their blocking, the quarterback throwing the ball, the receivers pulling off the safeties. I wouldn't me open without them. It's a team effort."

And when Mitchell gets open, a Bulldog touchdown usually follows -- Mitchell with 7 already this season.

"When I catch it everything goes so fast fun further and end up with a touchdown, thank God," he said.

Mitchell and the Bulldogs take on Madison this Friday.
