FARGO, ND (KTRK) -- A Cinco Ranch 15-year-old has become the Houston area's latest wrestling national champion by beating a fellow Texan to win the Fargo Asics/Vaughn Junior Nationals in North Dakota.
Taylor Rosario (in blue) dominated the 172-pound freestyle wrestling event and easily defeated Dallas area's Clare Walker on technical points.
Rosario came into the Fargo Junior Nationals with a recent win at the 2014 FILA Cadet Nationals, which followed her wins at the 2013 Cadet National and 2013 Body Bar FILA Cadet National wins.
Aside from her big wins this year, as a freshman at Cinco Ranch, Rosario placed sixth in the Texas girls state championships, compiling a 27-11 record.
At 15, Rosario has a bright future which could include a spot on the US National team.
