New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, who has not played since breaking a bone in his left foot Nov. 15, is on track to return for the divisional playoff round, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Sunday.
The Patriots can clinch the AFC's No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Edelman, who did not travel with the team for Sunday's season finale against the Dolphins, was spotted working out at Gillette Stadium earlier this week. He was leading the Patriots with 61 receptions at the time of his injury.
The Patriots, who were 9-0 with Edelman in the lineup, have gone 3-3 in the six games he has missed.
Offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer, who has a left ankle injury, also is slated to return for the divisional playoff round, sources told Schefter.
