FRISCO, Texas -- Didier Drogba and Gervinho registered a goal and an assist each in World Cup-bound Ivory Coast's 2-1 friendly victory over El Salvador on Wednesday night.
Drogba set up Gervinho in the ninth minute, with Gervinho returning the favour in the 42nd minute -- pulling the El Salvador goalkeeper away from the net, before squaring to Drogba for the goal.
El Salvador hit back with Arturo Alvarez's penalty kick in the 75th minute after Kolo Toure fouled El Salvador's Darwin Ceren in the area.
The win over El Salvador is a welcome return to form for the Ivory Coast after losing 2-1 to Bosnia-Herzegovina in St. Louis earlier in the week.
