Coogs advance to face Horns in NCAA Baseball Super Regionals

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The never-say-die Cougars are headed to the NCAA Baseball Super Regionals for the first time since 2003.

A 2 run double from freshman Connor Hollis highlighted a seven run third inning for U of H and the Coogs never looked back in a 12 -2 final to win the Baton Rouge Regional.

U of H set up Monday night's winner take all game with a pair of extra inning wins - Friday over Bryant and Sunday over LSU.

The Coogs breakthrough win sets up next weekend's Super Regional against the Texas Longhorns who beat the Texas A&M Aggies to advance. The winner between Texas and Houston advances to the College World Series in Omaha.
