Former Philadelphia Eagles running back Chris Polk agreed to a one-year deal with the Houston Texans, according to a league source.
The Eagles were shopping Polk before releasing him last week, and one of the teams interested in him was the Texans.
Polk is known in personnel circles as an excellent special teams player and he's also very good in short-yardage situations.
Polk had a strong game against the Texans while playing with the Eagles last season. He had eight carries for 50 yards, including an eight-yard touchdown run.
Polk should also come in handy for the Texans as a returner. Houston coach Bill O'Brien has stressed improving special teams this offseason.
