Defensive lineman Antonio Smith has agreed to a one-year contract with the Denver Broncos.
Agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN's Adam Schefter that Smith will be paid $2 million in 2015.
Smith, 33, was released Tuesday by the Oakland Raiders after just one season with the team.
Broncos defensive line coach Bill Kollar was Smith's defensive line coach for all five of Smith's seasons with the Houston Texans. Smith is known to be a player Kollar holds in high regard, valuing his on-field work as well as locker room presence.
He had 20 tackles last season and started every game for the Raiders. He was considered a leader on the team and it was expected he'd come back in a limited role. He had three sacks last season and has 44.5 in his 10-season career.
Besides the Broncos, the Texans also had shown interest in signing Smith. The defensive tackle had played in Houston before signing with Oakland before the 2014 season.
