The Houston Astros plan to activate outfielder Carlos Gomez from the disabled list for Tuesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, manager A.J. Hinch said Monday.
Gomez was placed on the 15-day disabled list on May 17 with a rib cage injury.
The outfielder has struggled this season, batting just .182 with zero home runs. He only has five RBIs in 121 at-bats this season while racking up 46 strikeouts.
He hit .250 with a home run in five rehab games for the Astros' Double-A affiliate in Corpus Christi, Texas.
"He feels healthy, he feels better and we're looking forward to getting him back," Hinch told reporters, according to MLB.com.
