HOUSTON -- Free-agent pitcher Charlie Morton, who made just four starts last season before a torn left hamstring ended his year, agreed to a two-year deal with theHouston Astros on Wednesday.
The right-hander will receive $14 million guaranteed, and he can also earn an additional $2.5 million each season in incentives based on starts, a source confirmed to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.
The 33-year-old Morton has spent his entire nine-year career in the National League, where he's played for the Atlanta Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies.
Morton is 46-71 with a 4.54 ERA in his career. His best season came in 2011 when he pitched a career-high 171 innings in 29 starts and won a career-best 10 games.
