INDIANAPOLIS (KTRK) -- Washington receiver John Ross III has run the 40-yard dash in a record-setting 4.22 seconds at the NFL scouting combine.
For that accomplishment, Adidas promised anyone they would give them their very own island.
So, congrats Ross, you just won an island, right?
Wrong.
Ross completed the feat on his first attempt Saturday, breaking Chris Johnson's record of 4.24 seconds in 2008.
But Adidas said because Ross wasn't wearing Adidas shoes, the deal was off the table.
Ross was wearing Nike shoes.
One player who was impressed after hearing the time was Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garett, who just shook his head. Garrett is the current favorite to be picked first overall in April's draft.
