GREEN BAY, Wis. -- For someone who has said that he doesn't believe God cares much about football, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers made a comment after Sunday night's game at Lambeau Field that could only be taken as a shot at Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

Answering a question about the Packers' 27-17 victory over the Seahawks, Rodgers said: "And then getting help from God. I think God was a Packers fan tonight, so he was taking care of us."

Eight months ago, after the Seahawks beat the Packers in the NFC Championship Game, an outcome that Wilson credited to God, Rodgers said on his ESPN Milwaukee radio show that he did not think God is a big football fan.

"I don't think God cares a whole lot about the outcome," Rodgers said. "He cares about the people involved, but I don't think he's a big football fan."

Those remarks came only days after Wilson said God set up the Seahawks' dramatic comeback win over the Packers in overtime.

Wilson then reiterated his stance during media day at the Super Bowl.

"I think God cares about football," Wilson said then. "I think God cares about everything he created."
