HOUSTON -- Yolanda Black Navarro of the Navigation Area Business Association discusses the demolition of Guadalupe Plaza and Park on the city's East End.

Some longtime residents of Second Ward are upset with how the plaza met its end --specifically that neighborhood residents had no opportunity to plan a proper farewell for the iconic community venue. Navarro is hoping the redeveloped plaza will pay tribute to the East End neighborhood's rich history and possibly retain the Guadalupe Plaza name.
