A preview of Tanabata, a special day in Japanese culture celebrated on July 7th.

Custom has it that someone writes wishes on a piece of paper and hangs it on a special bamboo tree - in hopes the wishes come true. Discussing the Star Festival are Akiko Sato Fredericks, of the Consulate General of Japan at Houston and Henry Yau of the Children's Museum of Houston, which recently held a festival celebrating the event.
