A pair of rare, newborn manatee twins was spotted swimming with their mom in Florida's Homosassa Springs this past week.
Manatees are a popular draw for Florida tourists, but the species is also on the endangered list with fewer than 6,000 remaining. Only 2 percent of manatee births result in twins, according to the Citrus County Facebook page.
"In the past 10 years, maybe I've spotted a dozen sets of twins but never once have I seen them in the springs nor have I seen a mother and her calves quite so visible in Homosassa waters," Ivan Vicente of the Fish and Wildlife Service told USA Today.
