THE WOODLANDS, Texas (KTRK) -- Art buffs north of Houston no longer need to drive into the Museum District to get their fix. Later this year, a fine arts center will open along The Woodlands Parkway.
The Glade Arts Foundation is in the process of renovating the old The Woodlands Homefinder Building, where the 7,900-square-foot cultural arts facility is expected to open in November.
Glade said the new center will feature a permanent collection from artist David Adickes, who is known for crafting dozens of oversized busts of American presidents. Adickes also crafted the Sam Houston statue in Huntsville.
Additional installations will feature paintings, sculptures, photography, performance art, fashion design and multimedia works from other artists.
