HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Gilley's, the iconic honky tonk in Pasadena which served as the setting of the John Travolta movie "Urban Cowboy" is making a comeback, at least in a craft brew form.
Gilley's beer is set to return to store shelves in the coming days. The updated version of the brew first released in 1979 is a blonde ale made by No Label Brewery in Katy.
The new Gilley's beer will be available in 12-ounce bottles at select SPEC's and H-E-B locations.
Brewery officials say there are plans to release the beer in cans as well and the possibility is open to expand the brand to include new styles.
