Bio: Monique would like to address the number one killer in the United States, heart disease. Her brother and father have both been affected by the terrible disease. Through their struggles, Monique has learned the importance of education, research, and prevention. She wants to promote nutrition, exercise, and stress management with hopes to help prevent heart disease among America's youth.

Most influential person in your life: Other than my mom and dad, my ballet instructor Abdel. He taught me to be dedicated and to work hard at everything I do in life.
Most significant event in your lifetime: My visit to Sri Lanka. When we landed I noticed the airport was surrounded by heavy militia. This made me realize the freedom that we have, and made me so thankful for those freedoms.
