Find deals at estate sales online
Before you head out to the sale, you can get a sneak peek at exactly what will be at the sale

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- If you've ever been to an estate sale, you know you can score some bargains on furniture, collectibles, and common household items. But the newest trend is that they're going digital!

Before you head out to the sale, check out estatesales.net. Here you can get a sneak peek at exactly what will be at the sale.

For example, at a Sharpstown estate sale that starts this Thursday, there are plenty of collectibles that include dolls, vintage Christmas decor, and old books.

At the Esquire estate sale that starts Friday to the public, the sale will feature antique vases, lamps, and dishes.

But not everything for sale is considered old. You can find deals on modern appliances like a stainless steel refrigerator too.

Becky Thompson runs her own estate business. She takes the photos, sets up the sale, and does all the work. The physical sales are done inside the seller's home.

"I go and take a look at the home and see they want to sale, and if they don't want to sale certain things I recommend that they get those out of the home before we start working and tell them what the commission would be based on what is inside the home," Thompson said.

Having an estate selling business handle the entire sale usually means the sellers make more money off their stuff because everything is priced to sale versus the seller holding on to sentimental items.

"To us, we don't know if it's been passed on. We put a price on it and sale it," Thompson said.

If you hire an estate sale company to run your sell, your payout is normally 65 to 75 percent of the money made.
