VIRAL VIDEO: Cat rescues little boy during dog attack

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A little boy in Bakersfield suffered only minor injuries during a dog attack. And it's all thanks to the family cat.

Surveillance video from outside his home first shows the little boy riding his bicycle on the driveway. Then, unprovoked, a neighbor's unleashed dog runs toward the boy and starts biting him.

But before the dog was able to drag the boy down the driveway, the family cat runs toward the two and chases the dog away.

Still photos of the boy's injuries are shown at the end of the video. He sustained some gashes to his leg that required stitches.

The boy's father, who posted the video on YouTube, said in the description that his son is fine. He notes that thankfully the cat ran off the dog before it could do additional damage.
