TEMPE, AZ (KTRK) -- A puppy cam helped police in Tempe, Arizona, catch a would-be burglar in the act. He was even seen trying to feed the dogs in an effort to keep them quiet.

The homeowner had set up an old iPhone to stream a live video feed so she could keep an eye on her dogs when she was away at work.

When she pulled it up one day recently, she saw a complete stranger wandering around her home.

She called police and police immediately locked down the neighborhood.

Tempe Police Department Lt. Scott Smith said, "The planets aligned in this one. We couldn't have asked for anything more in terms of getting real time intelligence and reporting to us."

The man was arrested and police say he may be connected to other crimes.
