This Thanksgiving edition of Casey's Pets is written by guest blogger and Red Collar Rescue foster doggie, Stevie.

Hi, I'm Stevie! Don't feel sad for me because I don't have a forever home, yet. I have a lot to be thankful for.

It wasn't too long ago that I was living with a family. But one day, they abandoned me, my brother Mikey and my sister Cindie at a local shelter. We didn't do anything wrong, they just said they had too many dogs.

I know my story is going to have a happy ending. The folks from Red Collar Rescue picked all three of us up from the shelter and now we are in their adoption program. We can't wait to each find our forever home.

We are each about 40lbs, probably a mix of Brittany Spaniel and maybe Labrador or pointer and are super sweet and cuddly.

Right now, all of us are living in a boarding kennel, but we're each getting a break for the Thanksgiving holiday and get to stay in a real home with a real family.

I am thankful for soft beds, hugs and lots of treats.

I am also thankful for all of the people who care about animals like me. People who support local rescue groups with their time and money and by fostering and adopting are the best!

I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving. Give your pets a extra lick on the face from me! I'm sure they are thankful to be a part of your family.
