HUMBLE, Texas (KTRK) -- Harris County deputy constables responded to an intruder call at a home near Lake Houston but instead found a big reptile.
Homeowner Brian Foster found a large unexpected guest hanging out in his Humble house Friday morning after bringing crews in to clean up after the flood.
As they were walking around to tour the damage, they noticed a 9-foot gator in the dining room. Foster immediately called authorities, who then reached out to the Texas Game Warden.
Jarred Pollard with Wildnernex Wildlife Control arrived and within 20 minutes captured the gator.
They are transporting the animal back into its natural habitat.
If you encounter a gator in the water, leave it alone. Under normal circumstances, it should find its way home as water recedes. If you think the alligator poses a threat to your safety, contact authorities for further assistance.
There have been several animal encounters among the floodwaters and after high water has gone down. In The Woodlands, a wild hog was spotted running around a neighborhood.
