Worker rescued after becoming stuck under Loop 610 bridge
At this point, it's not clear how the worker became stuck. The rescue caused big delays during rush hour.

A dramatic high-angle rescue unfolded on the East Loop at the Ship Channel Bridge Wednesday afternoon.

According to TxDOT, a contractor working on the Ship Channel Bridge lost his footing and slipped. He has personal protective gear on that kept him from falling all the way down.

Around 4:50pm, the worker was pulled to safety. He appeared to be conscious.

A portion of the freeway was shut down for the rescue, but has since reopened.
