HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- One person is dead after a shooting in northeast Harris County, deputies said.

According to authorities, the shooting happened as a result of some kind of family disturbance at the home on Piava Drive. Investigators were called to the scene just after 6 p.m. Friday.

Deputies said the 24-year-old woman confessed to fatally shooting her 25-year-old boyfriend.

"I shot him," she told detectives.

Neighbors told ABC13 that the woman shot her boyfriend in front of the home.

"She was in the door and they were having an argument. He turned around to go to his car and that's when she shot him," Carlos Correa said.

Others tried to help until authorities arrived.

"I ran inside and got a towel, then pressed my hand to the wound until the cops got here," Correne Blanchard said. "He was bleeding out of the mouth."

No other details have been released.
