Woman hit by truck while jogging in Pearland

PEARLAND, TX (KTRK) -- Pearland Police are investigating an auto-pedestrian accident that sent a woman to the hospital in critical condition Sunday morning.

Officers say a woman was out jogging at Southern Trails and Broadway in Pearland around 7 a.m. Sunday. Witnesses say the woman was crossing Broadway heading north on Southern Trails when a man driving a truck hit her.

Officers say the man got out of his truck and immediately started rendering aid. The woman was taken by life-flight to the hospital.

Witnesses tell police the man had a green light when the accident happened.

The woman did not have an ID on her when she was jogging, so right now they don't have an identification.

Her cell phone was located at the scene so officers hope they can use that contact her family.
