One injured after woman drives SUV into Houston Smashburger

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A young woman driving an SUV plowed into the front of a Smashburger restaurant on Buffalo Speedway near Bissonnet Sunday afternoon, according to employees.

One woman dining just behind the entrance was injured after the SUV came crashing through the front of the business, employees said. Police said she was taken to the hospital and her current condition is unclear.

The driver did not appear injured. The restaurant closed due to glass and debris spread throughout. Employees said there was a late lunch crowd when it happened around 1:45 p.m. and they were grateful more people were not hurt.
