Woman arrested for setting house on fire in Spring

SPRING, TX (KTRK) -- A Spring woman is in jail for allegedly setting a house on fire in order to get attention.

A house fire broke out at about 2:20am Wednesday in the 6900 block of King Arthur Court. Firefighters with the Klein Fire Department arrived to find a fire in the bedroom and kitchen area.

"Our investigation found that Vanessa Pagel intentionally set her house on fire. She confessed to fire investigators that she set several fires to get attention," said Captain Dean Hensley with the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office.

Pagel was charged with arson and booked into the Harris County jail Wednesday morning.

There were no injuries.
