Woman accused of stealing gear from fire department

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A woman is charged with felony theft for allegedly stealing gear from the Westlake Fire Department.

The fire marshal's office says Lauren Crumpton confessed to stealing nearly $4,000 worth of equipment from an emergency vehicle while the crew was out to dinner on the Katy Freeway back in March.

The equipment was returned.
