Woman uses iPhone app to find husband's body in N. Harris County
Carla Melendez says she discovered the body of Ramiro Acosta, 23, using an iPhone app.

HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- One man murdered, his body left on the side of the road in North Harris County, near the Lone Star College campus. Now investigators are trying to find the killer.



Carla Melendez says she found her husband, Ramiro Acosta, 23, early Thursday morning by using an iPhone tracking app linked to his cell.



"It showed trees and it was weird because why would his phone be by trees? It was there for a while," Melendez told Eyewitness News.

She drove to where the app said her husband was located and found his body along Turkey Drive off Aldine Westfield Road.



"We don't have a lot of information. We're trying to get as much as we can to do the follow up work on it," said Sgt. Felipe Rivera with the Harris County Sheriff's Department.



"If somebody saw something please say something. He didn't deserve to be thrown like this, like a dog in the street," Melendez said.



Investigators say Acosta was shot once in the torso. They aren't sure how long he had been dead on the side of the road, No arrests have been made. If you have any information, call the Harris County Sheriff's Department.
