Widow of Dep. Darren Goforth writes open letter, thanking community

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Nearly a month after the tragic murder of Harris County Deputy Darren Goforth, his wife, Kathleen, has penned an open letter to express her gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community.

Deputy Goforth was shot at a north Harris County gas station back in August. Shannon Miles is charged with capitol murder in his shooting death.

The letter was posted on the Texas Municipal Police Association, and reads in part,
