Led by John Kim, co-founder of the Chamber, this year the rodeo will have an unofficial "Asian Night at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo" on March 14th. Travis Middleton, a board member of the Asian Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Rodeo's International Committee, discusses how Asian American participation at Rodeo Houston has grown exponentially over the years.

Segment 2 - Iraqi-born artist, Ammar Alobaidi, discusses his journey from his war-torn homeland to a new life in Houston. Alobaidi now expresses his experiences through his artwork now on display at the University of Houston-Downtown's O'Kane Gallery. Despite Alobaidi's unpleasant experiences as a refugee, he conveys hope and optimism through his work. UH-Downtown is among the first American venues to showcase his work.

Segment 3 - A unique concept is coming to Houston designed to showcase the fabulous diversity and cuisine of Houston's many Asian American communities. It's called the "Lunar Lantern Festival." Organizer Dien Tran hopes to promote cultural awareness through the event which will feature contributions from virtually all of Houston's many Asian American communities. Houston is the nation's most diverse big city and Tran says this event will give all Houstonians a chance to enjoy the Asian experience.
