HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An injured Army veteran who served his country for 27 years got a big thank you from the community today when he was handed the keys to a new free home in the Tomball area.

Chief Warrant Officer Kevin Bone's tours in Panama, South America, Iraq and Afghanistan took a heavy toll on him, requiring numerous medical appointments and surgeries.

Kevin and his wife Carolina applied for a new home with Operation Finally Home, an organization focused on helping veterans and their families transition home.

The 2400 square-foot home was built thanks to the Houston Texans, Pulte Homes, FMC technologies and dozens of local contractors who donated time and materials.
